Cultureless Calgary? No Way!
August 7, 2008
Todorovic plans to cram as much affordable works as possible in the gallery for the show, which will feature her own work along with paintings, drawings and prints from other recent graduates from the Alberta College of Art and Design. Some of veteran artist Siva Pillay’s cowboy series paintings will also be for sale.
“Art is original first and foremost. You can buy reproductions of it, but to have something in your house that an artist has touched and speaks to you is important to have in your life.”
Todorovic adds, almost pleading, “It’s like, come see this art and see that there is actually an underground culture happening in Calgary and you can be a part of it. You don’t have to buy anything, just come and view and you can fill your life that way.”
How to Wow the Neighbours will be on display from Thu August 7th, 2008 – Sat August 30th, 2008.
