King has collected her line of bathing suits for a new exhibition, End of Season. Like the coffee cups, the bathing suits are also discards in their own way—”dregs” left behind after a sunny season.
“I want it to have a bad department store feel,” she says, of the exhibition.
To coincide with the end of summer as well as Halifax’s Go North! festival, King is installing the almost-human sized swimsuits into the closet-sized 161 Gallon Gallery, a unique Halifax exhibition space that takes its name from its tiny capacity.
End of Season opens on August 22 at 8pm. Location: 161 gallon gallery, 1-6014 Cunard St., Halifax, NS.
